NAAM Foundation is a Pune-based non-governmental organization (NGO) that was co-founded by actors Nana Patekar and Makarand Anaspure in 2015 . The foundation works in the areas of drought-prone regions, farmer welfare, education and healthcare for children of farmers who died by suicide, and relief work during natural calamities like floods and droughts.

The primary motive of the NAAM Foundation is to provide support and assistance to farmers and their families who are struggling with various issues related to farming such as droughts and crop failure. The foundation aims to work towards the overall development and welfare of these communities and to ensure their well-being.



Nana’s childhood dream was to join the Indian Army.

Nana Patekar wanted to become a soldier in real life and fulfilled his wish by playing Major Chauhan in the movie Prahaar , which he also directed. It is known that Patekar underwent extensive military training to prepare for his role in the film, and the movie is widely regarded as a realistic portrayal of life in the Indian army.

But Nana canceled the decision to join the army against the wishes of parents. Dreams remained unfulfilled.. Although the dream could not be fulfilled, Nana’s obsession with the Indian Army did not go away. Later, Nana made a name for himself in cinema as an actor. 1991 year. After a successful acting career, Nana Patekar turned to directing. While directing the first film, he chose a subject with the backdrop of the Indian Army.

When the Kargil war started, Nana himself went to the Kargil battlefield and joined the war with the soldiers there.
